old cartoon revisited: parachutes

Parachuting is scary enough. We take a risk we believe we can handle, and we are proud to call it a step of faith. But what being led into what we don’t think we can handle? What about the Red Sea, or Jericho, or Goliath, or the lion’s den, or the belly of the whale, or the cross and the grave? Or the modern equivalents too innumerable to mention? What about those?
