new painting: cold tree

new painting: cold tree March 13, 2011

I painted this watercolor yesterday and today. It measures approximately 8″x10″ (20cm x 26cm). I think it is a reflection of my soul right now. Sunday morning, though stunningly beautiful, is a very lonely solitary time. Peaceful. Tranquil. I think this tree captures the essence of that mood. (available here)

Beautiful. The cold winter of the soul was my first thought. But that’s ’cause that’s where I am today.

  • thanks wendy. let’s hope for spring.

  • this is by far my favorite painting from you. Well done!

  • thanks!

Heart-gripping!! Probably because I have an amazing support system for which I am extremely thankful.

I sense the yearning in this, and it made me wonder whether, after years of leading, you could just humbly go to a congregation somewhere and sit in the pews, sing a bit, pray, give a few dollars – just join in with, and alongside, in the ordinary way that the rest of us do and be church, in among the melee of daily life? You might be blessed by approaching it gently, as joining communal life, with no other agenda. I really hope one day that can happen. (I don’t know where Peter F leads but I’d guess that’d be pretty safe – as much as us messed up humans manage on a good day anyway?) Sending care to you over the air waves, Kim

  • thanks kim. i tried it a couple of times. and other periods in my life. still haven’t found what i’m looking for. might try again though. never know.

stillness and peace to your soul, K
