not all stories end well

This is a cartoon that loosely addresses James Fowler’s famous book Stages of Faith. He claims there are five, but there is a sixth for a few. And unfortunately most of them are martyred.

I believe it is important to be positive and strive for happiness. That is our right. But I get tired of the magical thinking of syrupy sentimental optimism that lives in a la-la land of denial.

Watch the news! There are people who are born into horror, live through horror, and die in horror.

Pay attention to those around you. There are people who live in a state of constant sorrow.

Not all stories end well.
