Then you have the observer’s interpretation.

Then you have his written account of his interpretation of what the observer observed.

Then you have the interpretation of the interpretation of what the observer observed.

Then you have the interpretation of the interpretation of the interpretation of what the observer observed.

And then… well… you get my point…
