I’m not really making any money on my book, Without A Vision My People Prosper, considering all the time and effort I’ve put into it. The truth is, I’d love to make money off of it. But my main concern is that pastors and leaders of churches at least read it to get a different perspective on how to do church.
Here are some questions:
Do you feel you are controlling? Do your people think you are controlling? Have you no ideas on how to move away from a controlling style of leadership? Are you afraid of complete chaos if you let go of the reins? Do you wish your church felt less like a business and more like a community? Are you looking for some kind of theological, biblical or philosophical grounds for rejecting visionary thinking in the church? Do you wish for a more authentic kind of pastoral ministry? Have you been lamenting the loss of a real pastoral lifestyle? Are your people tired? Are you?
This book contains not only stories from my own pastoral experience, but lots of quotes, cartoons and reflections all around this topic of visionary thinking and the danger it poses to true church community.
Please buy it for yourself or for a pastor or church leader. Or recommend it to anyone you think might benefit from it. Give it as a gift. Give it as a challenge. Recommend it to former pastors or churches. Buy it for your people so they might challenge you themselves.
