The story of the ravens providing for Elijah has always fascinated me. The story, like any other good myth, is rich with layers of meaning. That’s why I drew this image of Sophia in the wilderness. Sophia fled into the wilderness with nothing, only to discover that provision comes by strange and unexpected means. Before I left the ministry a couple of years ago, I thought I was quite alive and open. Looking back now, I see how enclosed I... Read more

This is a sculpture I did a while ago which is still in my possession. It is Brazilian soapstone on a walnut and brass bass. It’s about the size of an adult hand. It is called “recept“. My heart has been full of emotion lately. So much so that sometimes I feel it is in danger of bursting. I’m feeling an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I feel like I’ve been given another lease on life. I’ve been through an incredible... Read more

We are surrounded by love. That is, there are people who are willing to love us and perhaps already do. And there are certainly opportunities to love. Some people think that when there is suffering, there is no love… that love is a luxury in such situations. I’ve learned that the opposite is true and that love and suffering are not mutually exclusive. Love can abound even in the worst of places. Own the original drawing of this cartoon. Buy... Read more

As I look back over the past couple of years, I am amazed at how frozen my heart had become. It’s strange that while you are frozen you don’t know it. You are not aware of it. Then suddenly something happens, or gradually, and you notice that your heart is thawing. Once it gets to a certain point, you can actually look back and recognize your frozen state. It’s a rather disturbing but liberating experience. I’m not fully thawed yet.... Read more

This is a water-color painting I did a while ago. These are trees in my backyard. Right now, in the middle of winter, they are completely bare. In fact, they look barren. Touch them and they are cold. They crack in the bitter freeze of the season. Even any leaves they had are buried beneath layers of snow, concealing any evidence of life past or present. But this doesn’t mean they are barren. Faithfully, every year when spring approaches, the... Read more

I claim we are already one. Our unity is a reality that doesn’t need to be achieved, but only made manifest through our actions. Although challenging, I suggest it is easier than it appears. The more calm I am, the more accurately I reflect That Which Is True. It hasn’t been easy lately. In fact I’ve failed. Sometimes I feel like I’m being tested. The winds of adversity trouble me. But I want to pass. I intend to pass. With honor. I will reflect with purity the love, peace, joy and truth that surrounds me. I desire the reflection to be so accurate that you will not be able to discern the difference between... Read more

Sometimes all we can do is all we can do, then wait. Like Rahab. She waited for her deliverance to finally come. Waiting. Waiting. Then waiting some more. Make it an art form. Buy a print of this drawing. Check out my books that are full of my drawings: CLICK HERE! Read more
