I found the original reactions to this cartoon to be very interesting when I first posted it on November 28, 2006. It humors me how people can take a cartoon so differently than I intended it. Whatever works. I get my restored computer back today, so I’ll be up to doing original cartoons again. I might even do an original post later. Read more

Socrates said, “The highest form of human excellence is to ask questions of oneself and others.” I agree. And the highest point of the U2 concert for me was when 65,000 people were singing together, “I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.” Although many find this frustrating for me to be continually questioning and to encourage others to question becUse, afterall, religion generAlly is propositionally assertive and claims to have the answers. We are afraid to live in the... Read more

Last night my 22 year old son Josh was taking me to a “seminar”, but surprised me with U2 tickets. We were standing right in front of the outer stage. We were within four feet of the band members when they came around that stage. The show was incredible. Snow Patrol opened and sang my favorite song of theirs, “Light Up”. The night was unforgettable. We were on our feet for 10 hours, so today is to relax. You can... Read more

I’m digging up old cartoons. My hard-drive crashed and it’s being replaced, so I can’t create new ones right now. This one is from October 11, 2006. A little cheesy. I’m in Toronto, staying at my mom and dad’s. I met up with my son Josh here. He’s made plans and I have no idea what they are. We are “registering” today at 5pm. I have no idea what we are registering for. I’ll try to post every day for... Read more

This was one of my first cartoons, posted back in September 7, 2006. It’s hard for me to believe that I’ve been doing a cartoon almost every weekday since. I’ve received many requests for a book of my cartoons. I sometimes do wonder how many people would be interested in such a thing. My own Powerbook is still dysfunctional. I’m running out of options. And I’m out of town for the next few days. If I post anything it’ll probably... Read more

I drew this cartoon back in March of 2008. I like it. So, today my computer died (I’m on Lisa’s right now). Not sure what happened. It won’t read the startup disk. I’ve tried everything. Deep everlasting sorrow. And today my fridge died. The compressor just “went”. And my car died. I still have my wife and my dog, so I can’t write a country song yet, but it’s starting to sound like one! I’m going to be away for... Read more

The founder of the Vineyard movement I presently find myself in, John Wimber, once said that the role of the pastor was to help people move from one spiritual stage to the next, to help them grow in maturity. Although I might not agree with Wimber’s idea of growth and maturity, I think it is valuable to recognize the most important point: I am teaching a diverse group of people at various stages of faith with vastly differing and even... Read more
