My guest bathroom was the blah, painter’s grade cream that came with our house. I also used all our old grey trimmings that we’ve had for years. BLAND and BLAH! I love perusing the oops paint section at our big box store and found a can of this!
It was a nice creamy beige that would add that *something* to our guest bath.
First we taped off stripes and painted with the new paint.
Tip: put an X on the painted section so you don’t paint the wrong stripe!
I couldn’t wait to tape the tape off!! Next came my favorite step.
I had some twine on hand and bought some upholstery nails. I ran the twine down the stripe edge and held it all in place with the nails.
It created a diamond effect and added that character that I was looking for.
This came off an old shelf that I had. I detached it from the piece and stained the edges where the cut was made.
This glass piece I’ve had for years. It was only $5 because of this crack and that’s one of my favorite parts of the piece!
This total renovation took a weekend to complete and was less than $10 reusing what I had. A total transformation from builder’s blah to sensational stripes!
