There are tons of tutes on Pinterest that teach you how to disinfect your fruits and vegetables using a 1:1 vinegar to water ratio.
I’ve even tried them, placing my beloved fruit in a vinegar wash in my sink.
Then I bought some berries and for some reason, it seems very unappetizing cleaning them in my sink. My father recently had strict diet restrictions that prevented him from eating berries simply due to the pesticides and how dirty certain fruits can be, so I tried to come up with a better solution.
I made the typical fruit wash with 1:1 ratio of Water to vinegar, but decided to use my salad spinner instead of the sink.
This is a great option, since berries are better refrigerated, but still need to be soaked for about an hour.
Into the fridge they went! And rinsing was super easy. Just take out the basket and rinse!
I was able to use the same wash for all my berries…
Even my apples!
Look how dirty the water was at the end of it all! I noticed that my fruit stayed fresh longer after the vinegar wash, too. Super easy trick to clean your fruits and veggies with minimal cost.
