Staging a Family Room Before and After

Staging a Family Room Before and After
As part of my Selling Your Home Series, I’m posting up Before and After’s of all
the hard work put in place.  We’re moving on to the Family Room.
Here is the Before:
The L shaped configuration closed off the room and made it appear smaller.

Here is another angle.  Notice all of the items that need to go?

There is a lot of wall decor that draws attention to the items and not the room.
Here is the After:
By removing the wall items, the room appears more open and roomy.
Here is another Before:
The room appears small in this photo.

You can see my personalized Cabinet Door with our name on it and I need to remove some of the throw pillows.
Here is the room reconfigured without removing the items.  It is much more open and you can get a better sense of the space, but it still is busy.  We removed the items as well as the rug under the table and changed out the arm chair.  Look at how much bigger the room appears now!
Simple and elegant.
