Do you all love to shop online? I spend so much time looking at cute Farmhouse wares on different sites but when it comes time to bite the bullet and hit the purchase button I squirm a little.
First, because I’m cheap and I’m constantly comparing a piece of decor to a meal for my ever growing boys and their ever growing appetites!
And second, I hesitate because I’m always thinking of a ways to reproduce what I see online in a way that fits within my budget.
For instance, just look at these incredible clipboards from Antique Farmhouse. (I just love that shop!)
I saw them and immediately took a screen shot on my phone so I wouldn’t forget them. A couple of days passed and I hemmed and hawed about purchasing them. After a week or so, I finally decided, yes! I was going to do it and actually push that little button, but ACK! The deal was gone!
I was heartbroken.
Then I stumbled on an amazing find at my craft store! A set of 3 Clipboards for $9! I knew immediately what I was going to do.
Now this is when Bad Blogger comes in. In my utter excitement, I failed to take any shots of the DIY process, but lemme tell ya, it’s easy peasy!
Here’s how it went down:
1. I taped off the metal clips
2. I searched in my garage for black spray paint and SCORE, I not only had black spray paint, but had black chalkboard spray paint! Total Bonus!
3. Drilled holes for the twine – I didn’t measure, just eyeballed it.
4. Added the twine with knots on the back of the clipboards.
BOOM! Instant Decor for less than a Hamilton!
And here is how they look in our family room!
When I was at the Country Living Fair in Nashville, I scored these adorable hymn cards.
I loved how the booth styled them in their tablescape with the gorgeous glass bottles, feathers and hymn cards!
I knew they would look beautiful in my DIY painted twine-y clipboards!
