Today, I’m sharing another jewelry creation I made. I find making my own jewelry allows me to customize my creations to the types of outfits I wear. In the music industry, black is the most commonly worn ‘uniform’, but it gets boring without a little sparkle. I mixed the types of black beads with charcoal and silver and created three bands using stretch cord. Adding the flowery dangle gives a little whimsy to the piece. I hope this inspired you to... Read more

Yay! It’s Friday and after a much needed break this week from Homeschooling, I am so excited to share some flooring ideas I found on Hometalk! If you aren’t on Hometalk yet, be sure to head over and check out their inspirational posts – and don’t forget to follow me! I had such wonderful comments and love from my Hardwood Flooring Post I shared on Hometalk, I was invited to curate another board for them that’s all about Budget flooring... Read more

When we were putting the finishing touches on our Dining Room Makeover, one thing really stood out. Our Dining Table didn’t match this house. The last thing I was wanted to do was make over this table (again) after that hard work we’ve put in fixing up the kitchen. But something had to be done y’all.  It stuck out like a man in a Hawaiian shirt and flip flops at a fancy wedding. Not pretty! I have been swooning over... Read more

It’s Springtime, which means brightly colored green buds and colorful Easter Baskets. Today I’m sharing my knit coffee cozy in a Basketweave pattern. This is such an easy pattern to knit, just working in equal rows of knits and purls.  Here’s a sample pattern I found on the web: Row 1 (RS) Knit.  Rows 2-6 *K4, p4; rep from * to end.  Row 7 Knit.  Rows 8-12 *P4, k4; rep from * to end.  Rep rows 1-12.  This green cozy is... Read more

Last week, I shared the beginnings of our Dining Room reveal. Before I completely drop the curtain, I couldn’t wait to show off this treasure! Recently, we were gifted this gorgeous Pine Welsh hutch from my sister-in-law. This was a family heirloom passed to her from my husband’s great uncle. The story is, his (the great uncle) mother saw this piece while on a country drive. It was sitting on someone’s Farmhouse front porch. She sent her husband to find... Read more

My cute Plantation Desk needed some artwork to give it some pizazz, but our budget was tight. Here’s how you can create your own artwork for just pennies using what you have in your home! I wanted to have it tie into our Stairway Gallery Wall, since you can see both the Plantation Desk and the Stairway from the same room.  I opted for the Dictionary Printed Pages that I had created as a gift in the past. Here’s how... Read more

Whew! What a week? Ever have one of those? I’m the one in our house responsible for compiling all our paperwork for taxes for our home recording studio and I always get a bit befuddled during tax season. There was even a point of desperation this week where I entered into the “give it all up” room. You know, the room where you go to really consider pruning things from your life? It’s also known as the “pity party” room, so it’s... Read more

We have completely overhauled our dining room and are so excited to show you the amazing trick we found to paint our dentil moulding, quickly and easily! But first, let’s take a look at our starting point. These doors. These doors sold me this house. They are the entryway into our dining room and I fell in love with them immediately. They magically blocked out the peach trim, pink carpet and flowery wall paper and called out my name. Okay,... Read more

Awoken. again. Can’t breathe. Claustrophobic. It’s okay. This will pass. Deep breaths…deep breaths. Maybe a TV program will get my mind off of it. Ugh, I feel like I’m breathing in fire. My heart is racing. I hear my pulse in my ears. Could this be a heart attack? I’m not ready to leave my kids! Certainly not, I’m so young. But what if? It’s the unknown. Physical symptoms that manifest themselves into fear that leeches to your brain and you... Read more
