Earth Hour

Some friends are coming over this evening and I was just reminded that tonight is earth hour. They’ll be treated to dinner and conversation by candlelight. Won’t that be a surprise?

At 8:30 pm your local time, light some candles. Unplug any nonessential electronics and enjoy an hour of peace. You’ll be surprised at how much hum your TV, game console, and stereo creates. Tonight millions of people around the world will be doing the same to show how simple it is to save energy.

Earth Hour is sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund and has been going on since 2007. It’s about more than turning off the lights for an hour once a year. Each participant is encouraged to do their part to respect and sustain this planet we depend on for survival.
