Some of you may live in terribly liberal places, and it won't matter if people ask you what you're doing. I live in the South (Gulf Coast, y'all), so if people catch wind of what I'm doing, there just might be an impromptu exorcism if I don't watch it. And even though I live in a city where Voudoun practitioners flourish (at least conceivably), if they believe I'm doing Voudoun, the neighbors might not like that all that much, either. Read more

This is a very deep and conflicting area of thought and can refer to several areas of contemplation. For this moment in time I am not directing my comments towards abortions but towards the very aged and the terminally ill. In this modern scientific world we have wrongly become programmed to value life at all costs in preference to death; anyone with even an ounce of sense can see that if all manner of possibilities are considered then it is... Read more

Next time it is raining take a moment and go outside. Here before your eyes you will find both a mythological drama and a cycle of nature. Before you the great waters of life poor forth supporting life in its many forms, without it we would not exist. Above us is Father Sky, the Lord, and below us is Mother Earth, the Lady. A great union is formed and the life sustaining waters flow. Alchemically it is when ice and... Read more

In this blog, I want to talk about my personal explorations with my religion, as well as my personal politics, and how they relate to my religion. I believe that politics are not intrinsically intertwined into any religion by any stretch of the imagination; however, I believe very strongly that personal religious beliefs should certainly influence our personal politics. Below are a few points I’d love to explore in depth. These things are not only very important in our political climate, but also to me personally. Read more

I no longer need a lover to believe in me because I believe in myself. I don't need a date to go to social events because I am an interesting person in my own right. I don't need a breadwinner because I bring home my own bacon. Yes, sexual relationships are holy, but I don't need a lover to know I am holy in my own right. Read more

I suspect that no other Ascetic practice is more difficult for the Pagan mind to grasp than celibacy and granted, this certainly isn’t for everyone. I’ve had extensive experience with this largely due to my relationship with Odin. As a godatheow, I remained celibate for years, largely at the behest of my God. I won’t lie: to be perfectly blunt and crude: it sucked. But, it also led to amazing insights about myself, how I approach relationships, what I unwittingly sacrificed in relationships—all insights that made me stronger as a person, better suited to service to Odin, and none of which I would have realized had I been involved in sexual relationships at that time. I personally think that while sex is great, women in this culture are encouraged to seek out relationships before they really come to know themselves, their desires, their goals. This article examines how celibacy can be used to honor one's sexuality in a sacred, mindful, and passionate way. Read more

Here's what I do believe: justify your workings. Don't curse someone into oblivion because they told you your pants made you look fat one day. Don't make a huge working because you need a quick $20. Make sure that what you ask the gods for, you deserve. And that will go a long way towards making you conscientious about workings Read more

Written by Brandy “Kitsune” Ackerley, Pagan Radio Network Arthur Hinds‘ first solo album, Poetry of Wonder, is a joy to listen to.  Produced at Starbridge Studios, Arthur Hinds worked on this album, doing most of the music and lyrics himself.   It is a fun album that has been masterfully worked and is guaranteed to please.  It’s hard to pin what sort of sound he was going for with this album though, since the music quite obviously draws inspiration from many... Read more

Dark Rites on a marble slab, it has all the makings of a good book! If my choice of title drew you in ‘hook, line and sinker’, excited you and raised your interest then I apologize for getting your hopes up. But you have read too much Dennis Wheatley and watched too many films, frankly might I suggest it is time you actually embraced reality, for the truth is far less dramatic. Yes the Pagan scene of ritual could if... Read more

Ah, the subject of sex. I’m reminded of Emily Litella, the dear, sweet, hard of hearing “rebuttal” character on Saturday Night Live played by Gilda Radner. “What’s all this I hear about sax and violins on television?” poor Emily pondered, much to the obvious chagrin of “Weekend Update” host, Jane Curtin. “That’s sex and violence on television!” Jane would shout after she could take only so much. “Oh, that’s different” muttered Emily, ending with her ever famous “Never mind.” Emily... Read more
