I have too much to write about. I need clones or minions, and being sick makes me feel even farther behind on things that need to be written. I may have to go on a writing bender sometime soon. Today though, I want to write about Laura LaVoie. Another very busy Pagan, Laura is a Hellenic who blogs about Persephone, blogs about beer, blogs about building a tiny house in North Carolina and blogs at The Juggler on pop culture... Read more

I feel like utter crud, so this won’t be long or comprehensive. My apologies. Recently I told a blogger it was his job and his responsibility to research the religions he writes about, in other words, it’s his job to do his job. Not his reader’s job, not his critic’s job, HIS job. So a lot of people seem to be commenting that Occupy Wall Street isn’t offering solutions. That these unemployed, powerless people camping in the cold streets aren’t... Read more

I’m still laid low by the flu and this $^*%#%@ fever will not break so I can get some relief. However, Celestial Elf has a new machina film up for Samhain. I find these strangely charming. I hope you do too. Oh, and have an awesome Rapture! By reducing the workforce and creating an abundance of food for the winter, the Rapture may be as big an economic and scientific boon as the Black Death turned out to be. Read more

Some days I envy the Christians their Devil. He’s such a useful creature. All the evil deeds mankind does can be left on his doorstep. Everything we don’t like can be blamed upon him. He’s a one-size-fits-all scapegoat and I kinda wish I had one. If I had a Devil I’d blame him for my hair not cooperating and looking sad and limp. I could spend more time on my hair, but it sure would be easier to blame a... Read more

Working from home and living alone means my immune system has become a wuss. I hang out with friends who work in healthcare and are around school-age children and end up sick as a dog. I think I have the flu. I am not happy about this. What I am happy about is Bram Stocker’s Dracula is on Hulu. Although no Dracula could ever be sexier than Bela: Paganism posts shall return once my body agrees to cooperate. Read more

In his inimitable way, Lemony Snicket has made 13 observations about Occupy Wall Street. As I am a fan of lists containing 13 items, I thought I would share this with you here: “Thirteen Observations made by Lemony Snicket while watching Occupy Wall Street from a Discreet Distance.” 1. If you work hard, and become successful, it does not necessarily mean you are successful because you worked hard, just as if you are tall with long hair it doesn’t mean... Read more

Last year I did a playlist for Halloween, and I thought I’d do another playlist this year before Hallows is upon us. 13. The Skeleton Dance – Silly Symphonies The only video I’m bringing back from last year’s list. 12. The Highwayman – Loreena McKennitt 11. Ghost Riders In The Sky – Johnny Cash 10. Long Black Veil – Harry Manx 9. Wise Woman – Monika McGee and Lenansidhe [audio:http://nzmp3.co.nz/mp3s/wise_woman.mp3][/audio] 8. St. James Infirmary – Hugh Laurie 7. Breakfast in... Read more

Before he asked Pagan troops to fight overseas, and give their life for their country, then-Gov. George W. Bush told Good Morning America that he didn’t think the military should give Pagan servicemembers equal rights with servicemembers of other faiths: “I don’t think witchcraft is a religion. I would hope the military officials would take a second look at the decision they made.” Last year, Christine O’Donnell asserted that she was NOT a Witch, as if that was a bad... Read more

I’ve been grappling with whether I should write about Occupy Wall Street, and what to write about it, for some time. I’m not as eloquent as T. Thorn Coyle nor truly very savvy to what is going on. I felt a bit like I was hearing reports from another country, as if these could not be my people, my apathetic Americans. Then suddenly, it wasn’t just Americans but people were protesting in London, Rome, Madrid, Seoul, Hong Kong, Stockholm, Zurich... Read more
