Pictures and So On and So Forth

So we really did go to Frog Pond. And being that we live in a fading metropolis that is really more the size of a small town but retains the idea of being a city, in that we are on a busy road and share a yard with a large brick church, we don't think of ourselves as knowing anything about the countryside and certainly not anything about farming. I am always being tempted to gather to myself a chicken or two, but I'm pretty sure the church would hate that. The children would always be trying to bring them into the church kitchen or let them wander around the sanctuary. Maybe when the apocalypse happens and all social norms fall away….well, I imagine not even then.

So Frog Pond was so exciting, except that there were no frogs and no pond and so Marigold was very confused and even a tiny bit angry until I handed her a large donut at the end and then she shut up about it all.

There was a huge corn bin.

And pigs.
And sheep.
And a guinea fowl! But only one. But still! That was the most exciting part for me.

I bought a whole lot of plants, and three vats of strawberries, and an array of pickles and then everyone got a honey stick and then we went to the Amish store where I found yeast, rennet and unflavored gelatin. And then I spent a large sum of money on cold drinks because everyone was whining after the donuts. So, we should probably go back again, to see the bunnies, because Matt very unkindly wouldn't let us get one, even though they were so cute.

And here, in keeping with a kinder gentler way of life, is the flower crown I made for Marigold last night during Endless Baseball. She walked around very carefully looking smug until it finally was taken off and mushed into my purse.

Next time I need to take time to tuck all the ends in.
And here is a small section of the Sea of Cosmos that reseeded itself and which I couldn't bring myself to thin out and so who knows what the consequences will be. If anyone needs a little cosmos, you'd be welcome to come and carefully remove some here and there. It's going to be amazing when it blooms.

And now I will arise and go to serve breakfast and do some other stuff. Have a great day!
