Enough of death and suffering. Going to shelve that for a bit and try to be cheerful. Cleaned and rearranged the school room yesterday again, always again. I think it must be the key, for me, to homeschooling at all. Am I a Homeschooler? Yes. Then the furniture must be rearranged. Took out a big pile of junk as well. Discouraging, really, because I took out a big pile of junk in late August and am therefore confused about how I could have already amassed another big pile of junk after only six or eight weeks or whatever it is. Was under the mistaken impression that having dejunked and arranged the school room at the beginning, we would then carry on and do school, you know, in the room. But this is the third time I’ve rearranged in six weeks. There are just so many kids, and the practical irritations of trying to reach the board and keep track of board markers, or the CD player being plugged in, or reaching past someone for a piece of paper, or who is banging into who is constantly threatening to undo me. It’s like this in every realm of life. I’d like to call someone on the phone, but I can’t find the phone number. I wanted to write someone a note, but someone scribbled on the notepaper. I planned to make bread, but there was a big pile of garbage in front of the mixer so I didn’t. It would be nice if we had a talent night at church, but it would be dreadful to try to organize it. So I struggle along and try not to be thwarted by the details. This, by the way, is how I pray against ISIS. O Lord, please let them be disorganized. Please let them not be able to find what they’re looking for and communicate poorly with one another and get their feelings hurt and walk away. Please let one of them have low blood sugar and not be able to carry his end. Please let all the cars be empty of gas. But I fear the enemy is always better sorted out than the children of light. While we walk in a circle trying to keep a hold of our keys, Satan has already been round the block twice. Ah well, my school room is clean, so today, at least today, he doesn’t win!
