We're very very busy and we've got a lot to do and we've barely got a minute to explain it all to you….wonderful song, if you ever get a chance to hear it. Kevin Klein (is that his name?) singing on a Sandra Boynton album. Before this song there's Kate Winslet singing I Need a Nap. Goodness, I must drop everything and go dig this up and listen to it. Except that before that I need to construct a little something to say at tonight's Thanksgiving Service and worry in a desperate way about Advent and Christmas Pageant Music. After that I theoretically don't have anything to do for the next week a half except loll about and eat bonbons and cook thanksgiving dinner. And really, since it's Matt's high holy feast, I prolly only need to set the table and arrange the flowers, and maybe bake a couple of pies, and make bread, and something sweet and toothsome for breakfast, and maybe there should be lots of whipped cream. Barely anything, as you can see, to do.
But mainly, The Grandparents are here, shouts of joy and the thump of children bouncing hysterically off the walls with energy and excitement. While I loll about I need to keep Alouicious from jumping so high he lands on someone who is sitting quiet not hurting anyone, neither me nor his father nor his grandmother nor his grandfather. Why he thinks he can just come in and leap over the back of the couch, rather than walking round and sitting down, as if it's no big deal, is beyond me. I foresee a certain amount of screaming at him, on my part, trying to keep coffee cups and wine glasses from being completely shattered, not to mention everyone's nerves. Have been making him run laps. Maybe I should just work out an exercise routine that takes practically the whole day for him.
So anyway, I don't know how regularly I'll be here over the next few days. Still working on my Learning Notes. Don't get your hopes up. They're becoming vaguer and vaguer and weirder and weirder. Maybe I'll just try to put up a picture every so often, so you know I'm still alive. But you know how great I am about pictures. So, pip pip, have a lovely day if you like that sort of thing. But maybe not today! Today is National Have A Bad Day Day, so indulge yourself. Wallow in the tragedies of life.
