Three Things On Thursday

Three Things On Thursday June 17, 2021

Hahaha, our tent doesn’t look like this.

Thing One

My very dear grandfather is turning 100 years old today! I haven’t gotten to see him in quite a while because he lives in California. Here’s that wonderful day we got to spend with him, though, so many years ago. My dad pointed out this morning that besides being in the war and flying airplanes, he was a teacher. He taught Bible School in Nigeria, in South Africa, in Belgium, and by correspondence from the 50s all the way to the 90s.

Thing Two

The podcast I did with Melanie over at the Christian Research Journal is up. The article will be along shortly and I think is for early-bird subscribers, which you can become by going here.

Thing Three

And finally here is a hotel if you’re covered in money and looking for a way to spend it. I scrolled through the pictures instead of reading a book last night and you know what, I have no regrets. In the debating over what to do for a holiday I came to the grand conclusion that I would rather spend less money and go away for longer than spend all the money and only have one day. Which is why we will go camping yet again because it only costs like 100 bucks and I can sit in a chair and stare out at the lake or whatever and do all my dishes in a big metal tub like a sane person. And here you thought I would say something about the Southern Baptist Convention going on all week…Not A Chance. I value my own mental health too highly. And now, if you will excuse me, I have stuff to do, like make lunch and disconsolately pick my way down the torn-up street because that’s right they’re still “constructing” it. Have a nice day!
