Saturday on the Sex Crazed Links

Trying not to give way to the doom and gloom of this bad evil cold, especially as everyone else seems to have recovered. Assembling links is vaguely alleviating my misery.

Here is an interesting, if slightly confused, article about sex in the Islamic World. It needs lots more added to it, but what’s there is heartbreaking. It seems like we have arrived at the perfect meeting of East and West, the sudden complete devolution of sex brought to full flower. We are sex obsessed and so are they. They can’t talk about it, and we can talk of nothing else. It isn’t really ‘they’ and ‘we’, it is only two cultures crashing into each other and finding there is nothing lasting and beautiful at the core of either. Whatever was there has been sold away.

And here is a very interesting read about homeschooling and conformity. This also makes me feel morbidly apocalyptic. I haven’t ever felt more happy about all this last decade of homeschooling than I have this month. People are anxious if you do something different with your children. The child should look and sound a certain way. But we’ve really all just been biding our time, waiting for the New York State Gender Unicorn by which the child, in defining himself, falls into an already prepared for him confusion of being and identity. Conformity Foresooth.
