A few months back I wrote a blog titled, “Chop Wood and Carry Water.” To me, it spoke of how we can do the same tasks from the enlightened state that we previously did from the sleeping state.
Today, I had the opportunity to witness how the universe provides us with numerous opportunities to sharpen our abilities to do just that.
Before I recount what I see led to this particular blog, I would like to share some of my personal thoughts and experiences. Since having my revelation which allowed me to see the interplay between the finite and the infinite realms, I have witnessed myself over a period of the years as experiencing a kind of cleaning of sorts. By cleansing, I mean, a releasing of old thoughts and beliefs which somehow turned into patterns of behavior. Through observation of myself and others in this world, coupled with the overview of interplay between dimensions of consciousness, I have come to recognize, the primary purpose of life in this world.
If I was to some up that purpose it would be this; this world, as well as other worlds and dimensions, is a school for spirit to awaken in. Not unlike schools that humanity is familiar with, there are various levels and curriculums to be experienced. Another similarity to the schools humanity is familiar with is no one graduates without first successfully learning and accepting their lessons. The primary obstacle that many encounter is holding onto false beliefs. Once false beliefs become solidly accepted as real, it becomes very difficult to release them. As I have come to see things, each of us will let go of our false beliefs only after we have had sufficient experiences to validate a new view or level of understanding.
I also believe that this world is here for that purpose and everyone perceives their unique view with varying degrees of awareness from the human and spiritual perspectives. Today there is much talk about an ascension and many believe that a shift in global consciousness is underway.
Another word for this process of moving to greater levels of awareness is evolution.
When I looked at the bible for the first time in order to find some quotes to use in my book, it was very clear to me that the bible represented a narrative which presented an evolutionary picture of man’s awakening.
If you look back to the old testament, you will get an idea of what I am talking about. Ecclesiastes, king over Israel in Jerusalem who had the luxury of being free of the stress of self preservation committed much of his time to seeking insight of the human experience. As an observer of the life of man he did have some powerful insights and said the following,
“I have seen the travail (toil/hard work), which God has given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.” Ecclesiastes 3:10
Upon further investigation of Ecclesiastes’ beliefs and teachings, it became obvious to me that he fell short of seeing the bigger picture. By that I mean, Ecclesiastes never got past the view of life from the human perspective which is why he concluded, “Wisdom Is Meaningless.”
Ecclesiastes 1:12-18
“I, the integrated, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind. What is crooked cannot be straightened;what is lacking cannot be counted. I said to myself, “Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.”
It was once said, “wisdom is greater than knowledge” and as I see Creation, from the eternal Spiritual view, I agree with that tenet 100%. The question that should be considered than is, what is the difference between knowledge and wisdom? To me, knowledge is that which is learned and wisdom is the understanding as to how to integrate what has been learned into each present moment in order to see beyond illusions and erroneous beliefs.
For most people, this process is one that requires a multitude of experiences and requires many times lifetimes before one becomes fully enlightened.
As mentioned earlier, through observation of both in myself and of others, I am constantly reminded that we all are in this world to be exercised (given opportunities to shift from our human view to that of Spirit). Just Yesterday I had a great opportunity when I arrived at work that I would now like to share with you. Although I work at the ice cream shop seven days a week, Fridays are a little different than most other days. Unlike the other six days, on Fridays my fiancé stays home to get caught up on house work. This means I find myself driving a 2005 Dodge Neon rather than the Toyota Corolla I drive the other six days.
Being that I work 7 days a week and have very little time to go any where other than back and forth work from the ice cream shop, the Neon has only 31,000 miles on it. That said, let me get back to the point at hand and why I see the title for this blog felt appropriate.
This last Friday, the trip from Port Charlotte to N. Ft. Myers was mostly uneventful and I arrived a few minutes early. It was only when I got back into my car that I noticed something amiss. When I tried to shift into reverse I had that Oh No Now What experience that I believe many of us in this world have had on more than one occasion. For some reason the car would not go into reverse.
I try over and over again but nothing seemed to work. I even tried to shut of the motor and shift with the motor off, still nothing. After Oh No What Now hit me, the next thought was, where am I going to get the money to fix this? Here we are in the midst of the slowest season in the middle of a recession and I have credit card bills to pay for a business trip I just came back from.
Fortunately, through years of practice, I was able to release those negative thoughts seemingly as soon as they appeared. The next thought that came to me was from a mechanical standpoint based on past experiences, what could be wrong? From my childhood to present day I have always tried to fix or work on anything and everything that showed up in my life. From working on my cars to doing plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, wallpapering, flooring, roofing, masonry, installing pools or simply digging a ditch I have always said, if someone has done it, I should be able to do it also.
There is an expression I like that I heard many years ago. “If there is a will there is a way.” Looking back at the moment it is clear to me that like almost any moment we experience in this world, I had a choice to make. I could have sat there panicked and called for help or take a breath and then ask for some clarity. I opted for the later.
What I did instead of sitting there in a panic was to physically push the car back far enough in neutral to make room to go forward without hitting anything. I then made my usual trip to the bank to get change for the day, and then ventured back to Daddy Dee’s.
Once back, I then went online to research my problem. After about a half hour I found that the problem I had sounded like a problem with the shifting cable bushings. Further research led me to discover that although there are no factory replacement bushings, there are bushings available from an aftermarket company. As it turns out rather than spending hundreds of dollars for the repair I was able to order new bushings for only $20.00 delivered.
In closing, I would like to share yet once again a couple of the most important insights I believe we have come here to discover. The first is we have all come here to ultimately become masters.
By that, I do not mean that we should aspire to master the outer world by attempting to control every detail in our lives but rather, to master our ability to stay awake/aware in the world as we are exercised in order to hone our abilities to master self.
Another equally important point I feel is worthy of consideration is, God did not create anyone with abilities that are not a part of us all. Isn’t this why Jesus declared, “What I do you can do and More.”
Regardless of your path or what religion you practice, if you wish to awaken yourself and live awakened in this world you may find yourself reinterpreting your view of reality itself!
More to come…
