When she was still with us, my sweet and saintly grandmother taught us that the proper way to offer up frustration and suffering to God was with joy in your heart and a smile on your lips. When I add to her wisdom that everything I’ve ever learned about or experienced with God is that He is love, joy, and peace; and that fear and anger are never from Him.
Which has me wondering, as I look at the hysteria and fear from both liberal/progressives and rad trads as they wring their hands over what’s going on in Rome…
is it possible to be angry or frightened while on the road to Heaven?
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. –John 14:27 (Douay-Rheims translation)
