We’ve tried the church just down the street from our new house twice now. I don’t like it. The priest is great. I thought that the relics from the True Cross on the Feast of the Veneration of the Cross were an amazing thing to behold. I can’t get past the architecture. I try, but it looks like an office building that someone has hung a few religious pictures in. Add in the lack of a crucifix (it’s a resurrection... Read more

I know it’s a new template and new colors and a new photo, but be honest..weren’t you a bit tired of the old one? I forced the children to go to the neighborhood park and do all kinds of goofy stuff in an effort to get a photo for our Christmas cards. I didn’t get one of those, but I did get the lovely black and white of them walking away just for you! Same old blog, same old me,... Read more

This weekend, James Carville, he of the shiny head and squinty eyes, hinted on Anderson Cooper 360 that there would be riots if Obama loses. Are you trying to scare us Mr. Carville? Or is this supposed to in some way entice us into voting Democrat? Vote Obama or …face riots. And we all know that racial riots, think LA here, do not end nicely for white people. Does he think I’m afraid? That fear of rioting would make me... Read more

h/t to Paul at Regular Thoughts Senator Mark Warner (D-VA)say that homeschoolers “Threaten what it means to be an American.” Funny. The homeschoolers I know are independent thinkers who like to do things for themselves, don’t ask for a hand out and wouldn’t take one if it were offered, come from many different religious and political backgrounds, think that parents know what’s best for their own children, just want the government to get out of our houses and leave us... Read more

A little glance into the wonders of life as a homeschooling mom of 5. This is what happens on Tuesday. Don’t confuse it for any other day of the week. They’re all completely different and yet frighteningly the same. So, without further ado, here’s Tuesday: 1.Hear the Computer Guy’s 2 alarms go off. Wait for him to turn them off.2.Wake him up.3.Curl up in bed and try to sleep a few minutes longer.4.Finally give up when #5 starts screeching.5.Change #5’s... Read more

I got new running shoes today! Asics ’cause Imelda recommends them..and the shoe guy said they were best for my feet. Good thing because my others were worn out poor things. Running today..running tomorrow….running…running…Is there anything better than the sound of your feet hitting the pavement? For some reason I run to the rhythm of “Purple People Eater”…that’s normal right? Read more
