Today was the annual taping of the Disney Christmas Parade that airs on Christmas morning on ABC. Since we’re passholders, we thought we’d go down and check it out and see if we could see anyone. We knew Regis and Kelly would be there so we staked out a spot on a corner to see the parade and caught a glimpse of the daytime duo. Good shots were hard to get because of the bright camera lights, but here’s one that’s at least visible. At one point, Kelly turned to face us and shook some cheerleading pom poms toward us. Regis also waved at various times.
Miley Cyrus was a surprise and then so was her dad Billy Ray Cyrus. I called mom to tell her her old boyfriend was playing. She was nuts over him years ago and I even got the chance to have him give her a call once. He’s a very nice guy and that was even evident during his short performance today.
Somehow we managed to be really close up during the performances, among all the screaming kids. I thought “how cool it must be for a kid to be at the happiest place on earth listening to their favorite singer!” At least one girl wept. I told LeAnn I would have wept if Olivia Newton John would have stepped out. Oh, Sandy!
