Gospel Music Week 2005 – Tuesday Recap

I have a few minutes before I have to get ready to roll out of here but I wanted to get this update posted.

Tuesday was the longest day so far for me. I got up early and went through interview after interview: Third Day, Casting Crowns, Ginny Owens, Billy Gillman, Carried Away, Derek Webb, Avalon (pictured), and more. They were very good interviews and several of them could have lasted much longer if we let them.

I later tried to “dinner-hop” between the Provident dinner at the Nashville Coliseum and Word’s night at Buffalo Billiards. At the first dinner, I sat with two of my buddies from Overflow and we had a good time joking about the festivities. Mac from Third Day came over for a few minutes and joined in the fun.

Saw a lot of good music on Tuesday, including Bryan Duncan (doing “Step By Step,” no less), Nicole C. Mullen, Kirk Whalum, The Katinas, Ginny Owens, Paul Colman, Sarah Brendel and what would make a day complete without a Warren Barfield set? He did great as always at the No. 7 Club in the Gaylord Entertainment Center.

Jon Foreman from Switchfoot also made it into the EMI Sales Conference and premiered two new songs from their upcoming album which are GREAT! Mark Lowry and T-Bone were also there.
