I wanted to give you a preview of my debut book, arriving in May. This cover may be tweaked, so don’t be surprised, but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. In the next few days, as I put the final revisions on the manuscript, I will begin posting some snippets from it along with a link to pre-order. Thank you for your patience with my excitement as we get ready to go to press! Read more

The trailer for ‘The Young Messiah’ released today, giving our first look at the film adaptation of Anne Rice’s Christ the Lord, Out of Egypt. The book is a fictional imagining of what the childhood of Jesus might have been like. The trailer looks engaging and impressive, but I’m curious to know if it will entice evangelical audiences. Regardless, it will provoke discussion and hopefully inspire audiences to check out the biblical account. Read more

In 2010, the eyes of the world turned to Chile, where 33 miners had been buried alive by the catastrophic explosion and collapse of a 100-year-old gold and copper mine. Over the next 69 days, an international team worked night and day in a desperate attempt to rescue the trapped men as their families and friends, as well as millions of people globally, waited and watched anxiously for any sign of hope. But 200 stories beneath the surface, in the... Read more

Don’t be afraid to venture beyond the first piece of advice offered to you, whether from a professional or amateur opinionist. You are the one who has the best view of your situation and sometimes someone, well-meaning or not, has limited resources in which to draw from and perhaps even an agenda to insert. Everyone, myself included, is so adept at doling out advice on any given subject but it’s not all worthy of your time or energy. LeAnn and... Read more

Glimpses of familiar surroundings, ships and villains, but so far still being teased on the return of our old favorite characters. Maybe Luke, Han and Leia will show up in the next one. We have a year to find out. Read more

I’m a little more well versed in Peter Pan legend these days. It is a film on heavy rotation at my house. So this trailer is interesting, showing the origins of Peter and Hook. I think we’ll probably see it. Read more

If I’m counting right, this is Michael W. Smith’s fourth Christmas record and I really believe it’s the best. Because it has so many guest stars, you might think it’s a duets record and because they are mostly from the country genre, you might think it would be a bit twangy. But it’s neither. It’s a classical sounding—sometimes with big band sound—Christmas record that begins with familiar carols and ends with some traditional and original sacred offerings. My review will... Read more

Something has changed in the past 10-15 years. Suddenly I like westerns. The only one I ever did growing up was the Lone Ranger and now I’m just fascinated. And check out this story and this cast. Looks awesome! Read more

To me, a perfect Christmas gift makes you feel like a kid all over again. Sometimes, it’s something you’d never think to spend money on for yourself. So when someone else gives it to you, you’re simultaneously overjoyed and relieved of any potential guilt for spending so selfishly. So was the case with my favorite Christmas gift that I received this year (or maybe ever) – Marvel Unlimited. I’d heard of this subscription-based comic book reading service (think Netflix for... Read more
