Coco Cabrel, The Flamenco-Fit MD, uplifts professional women searching for Christian grace in their bodies and souls, even when life feels ungraceful to them. She uses her God-given gifts as a writer, speaker, dancer, and teaching MD to share devotional stories, fun workouts with Flamenco flair, and effective courses that help to rise triumphant over hardship.
Cabrel is a graduate of the prestigious Honors Program in Medical Education at Northwestern University. She brings 30 years of an award-winning professorship in Flamenco dance, anatomy, and neurophysiology, plus graduate-level training in screenwriting and storytelling, to her coaching and appearances on nationally syndicated and local television programs. She’s been featured in numerous magazines and podcasts. Her podcast for Northwestern Intersections was voted one of the “Top 3 Podcasts of 2020” by Northwestern alumni worldwide.
Cabrel says she enjoys writing for Patheos because, “I don’t feel like it’s just me, all alone with a tiny blog in a massive void. While I may not be communicating directly with other Patheos writers, I am fully aware that I’m part of something bigger, and that my column is truly a voice that can be heard in a multi-voice dialogue.”
Her advice for other Patheos writers is: “Develop a rhythm for typing into your Patheos portal. You don’t necessarily need to be on a rigid schedule – unless you thrive on schedules and routine – but be sure you’ve got a flow in your life for getting in there and typing. As a Christian, when I’m typing and I get stuck, I ask the Holy Spirit for the right words. And I’m constantly learning how to trust God with all my heart (see Proverbs 3:5) so that I can write fast – something that we all have to do to keep this praiseworthy dialogue going!”
