Deified Messaging System

Deified Messaging System

In a previous post I mentioned that Butler University has a new unified messaging system that sends voice mail via e-mail, as well as allowing you to check your e-mail by phone. In that post I mentioned it telling someone โ€œYou have an e-mail from Jesus.โ€ In a voice mail message I left for someone today, I later learned that it turned part of it into the text below (in which, ironically, I said that I wondered what the unified messaging system would transcribe the words as):

โ€” itโ€™ll be interesting to see what this new messaging system deified messaging system turns my words into because really also get this via email โ€” but if you wanna call me back god do so otherwise we can talk about this some other way.

I love that it decided to turn my reference into the Unified Messaging System into the deifiedย messaging system, and inserted an additional reference to โ€œgodโ€ (which could, in the context, be taken as an expletive or as indicating that Iโ€™ve suddenly turned from speaking to my colleague to addressing god prayerfully).
