BioLogos Clarifies Genetics in Response to Intelligent Design Claims

BioLogos has posted a video addressing Intelligent Design from a Christian perspective.

I would have made a different point than the host of the video does in her comparison between “Christian music” and ID’s supposedly “Christian science.” In fact, “Christian music” doesn’t involve Christians coming up with their own system of tonality, but involves Christians using generally accepted tonality, chord progressions, instruments and styles for the enjoyment and benefit of Christians (or sometimes for the dismay of everyone, as Scott Bailey regularly illustrates, but that is a separate issue, and not something that only Christians are guilty of). And so the analogy could in fact be invoked to make the point that Christians in science should not be trying to redefine what science is, nor offer a cheap knock-off of mainstream science, but ought to do actual science well.

In related news, RJS blogs about Adam, sin and death at Jesus Creed, and Martin LaBar shares thoughts from Calvin relevant to Genesis and science.
