Murdoch University is one of Australia’s leading universities with a strong focus on high quality teaching, research and scholarship. It is a young, growing university with a current enrolment of around 18,000 students.

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities at Murdoch University (0.4) in conjunction with the Anglican Diocese of Perth (0.6) is looking to appoint a Lecturer (Level B) in New Testament to commence in January 2012.

Theology is taught at Murdoch University on the basis of a partnership between the University and the Perth College of Divinity Inc., which consists of members from the tertiary faculties of the Anglican, Catholic and Uniting Churches in Western Australia. The employing body of the Perth College of Divinity for this position is the Wollaston Education Centre (The Anglican Diocese of Perth).

Theology staff teach full-time in the Murdoch Program. The successful applicant will be offered simultaneous contracts with the University (0.4) and the Wollaston Education Centre, Anglican Diocese of Perth (0.6), the employing body of the Perth College of Divinity for this position. The successful applicant is expected to hold a PhD in New Testament or be able to demonstrate evidence of near completion of a doctoral program, and have well developed teaching, research and leadership skills. The person appointed to this position will teach, undertake research and supervise research in the field of New Testament, and will contribute to the educational and formational programs of the Anglican Diocese of Perth.
