As often happens, a convergence around a common theme has occurred on blogs I read and on Facebook.
First, there was this headline, which I initially misunderstood, science fiction fan that I am:
Even having blogged about religion and Doctor Who, this still wasn’t a direction I expected the show to take. Did you understand it correctly the first time you read it?
Along similar lines, Peter Kirk explained that the headline “Kirk to Consider Gay Ordinations” had nothing to do either with his future in ministry or his sexual orientation.
And finally, A. K. M. Adam told me (on Facebook), “James, your status line in my FB news updates reads, ‘James McGrath recommends Obama Addresses Jewish Group, Just Days After Mideast Speech and Religion and Sex Quiz’ — which raises questions about how the Chief Executive is spending his time.”
