Hilding Rosenberg, Symphony No.4 “Johannes uppenbarelse”

Hilding Rosenberg, Symphony No.4 “Johannes uppenbarelse” August 31, 2016

A symphony based on and incorporating parts of the Revelation of John, as well as poems by Hjalmar Gullberg. Composed in the context of World War II and the expansion of the Nazis into Scandinavia.

Just one of the ever-increasing number of pieces that I know will need to at least get a mention in my course next semester on the Bible and music. Expect this to be a recurring theme over the coming months.
