Busy, exciting week. More to come. 2015-02-04T22:58:25-06:00

Today is Pentecost, a VERY high feast in the Catholic church. Before mass, I’ll be doing an interview with the local diocesan Catholic newspaper about my music at St. Bernard’s. Which brings me to this wrap-up post: this week has been particularly busy and productive; be sure to scroll down and check out some of the updates and postings. Here are the highlights:

With my talented friend, Walter Gershon, and new buddy Jon Richards (owner of Manic Muse Recording), I recorded a smattering of demo covers and the first track to my summer project, The Upi Dupi La La Sessions, titled “Pa Ingalls.” They’re all posted below.

I was also the featured guest on Musings, a pilot radio broadcast for WRHU, Hofstra University. My good friend Eduardo Duarte is the host of the show, combining philosophy and music together in an exciting, original way. That’s posted too.

I also finally got a kick drum and foot pedal to round out my little drum set. I’ve been practicing everyday —- often to my wife’s chagrin —- to some simple hip-hop beats from The Roots and Rakim. I doubt that I’ll ever be amazing, but I know that it’ll make me a better musician. I also got a Zoom3, an audio and video recorder: so expect some video updates from me in the near future.

That along with some fishing, frog hunting, the usual reading and correspondence, booking gigs, working on a short story I submitted to the SmokeLong Quarterly and an article I plan to submit to First Things, and attending and hosting a couple bar-b-que’s… it’s been a great week.

Enjoy your Sunday and the long weekend!
