We have this wonderful fire pit in the backyard.  It’s the only successful outdoor project I’ve ever accomplished (never mind that you’d have to be carried off by wolves halfway through in order NOT to succeed at something so simple).  I just dug a wide, shallow hole in the grass and then ringed it with the biggest rocks I could find. Why?  Because it keeps raining here and I was bored. Edited to add:  just in case  anyone missed the fun the first time around: Pants:  A Manifesto (my first response to the supremely creepy original message from Catholicity) Pants Pass (a printable card to keep with you in case you need to pop out to the store for more corset starch) WWMD  (a gentle reminder that Mary wasn’t actually made of plaster)                   Read more

Today at the Register, I’m reviving an older post, Espressivo, in honor of Father’s Day.  On the actual day, I’ll have eight twelve-year-old girls sleeping over and the library summer reading program kick-off party to attend, so in case I forget to say it then:  Happy Father’s Day, Abba!  Thanks for the music. Read more
