In the face of suffering, death and evil it is all too easy (especially for us in the blogosphere) to opine on this and that and take away lessons or remind people of things they should remember but maybe don’t and so forth. We here at Steel Magnificat do it all the time. I invite you to read David Mills poignant words in his column today about the recent death if his sister. Mills invites us out of our assumptions that there is something we need to do or say in response to death and calls us to remain mindful of the One always present. He writes:
“That sometimes words don’t comfort or heal, but love helps. I was not in the mood for theology or piety but eager for signs that God stays with us.”
