I just wanted to give my fine readers a word of encouragement: it’s only two weeks until election day.
Fourteen days. A fortnight. One more than a baker’s dozen. Ten business days plus two weekends and, provided that the loser concedes peacefully, which is a worry for another day, this will all be over. Over. The election season from the pit of H-E-double-hockeysticks will be over and done. This is the election equivalent of late May in the elementary school year, where the teachers give up entirely and just have the students do field days and living history displays instead of book work because it’s almost over and nothing matters anymore.
We are in the home stretch, the final sprint.
And whatever happens, I think we can safely say that the real winners this year were the comedians. God bless them, one and all.
