I’m back with a few more items here. It was pointed out last night that Donald Trump’s famous tweets are still coming from his Android, which we last heard he gave up for security reasons five days ago. Today, news sources are confirming that he still has that android. You know, a private and unsecured phone.
It has also been confirmed that Kellyanne Conway, Jared Kushner, Sean Spicer and Steve Bannon all have active email accounts on an RNC email system. The one that was hacked during the election. That’s right. It seems that Trump’s White House is using a private email server.
I have just one tiny little question. WHAT ABOUT HILLARY’S EMAILS!? WHAT ABOUT HER DASTARDLY PRIVATE SERVER THAT ALLEGEDLY PUT THE WHOLE COUNTRY IN DANGER and we had to listen to news updates about it for what seemed like hours, granted any story involving Hillary Clinton seems to take hours, but still. WHAT ABOUT THE EMAILS? Because I remember a chorus of incensed Republican delegates at that stupid convention chanting “Lock her up” in a lurching, arrhythmic Republican chorus. Because I remember that in all three of those darkly entertaining debates, the Great Orange Lummox would intone “when you release your EMAAAAAAAAILLLLS,” while inclining his head toward her as if this was the smoothest possible dis. Because I seem to recall that harrowing weekend just before the election when all anyone wanted was for it to be over and her emails became an item yet AGAIN.
I know, I know, Hillary’s emails were different because something something Benghazi pro-choice something, but guys. Seriously. I think I’m about to have that stroke I’ve been working my way up to ever since this nightmare started in 2015.
And as if things needed to be more surreal, it is also being reported that Mike Pence refers to his wife as “Mother.” George R. R. Martin himself could not conceive of such an unholy coupling. This is Sophocles territory. We elected Oedipus Rex, and it’s all over but the plague. Or maybe it’s an Indiana colloquialism, I couldn’t say.
Thank God we avoided electing somebody who used a private email server, though. Oh, wait.
