Please Help A Local Family Rebuild After A House Fire

Please Help A Local Family Rebuild After A House Fire

Friends, I’ve got a work of mercy for us to perform for the first week of Lent.

As Steubenville residents already know, there was a tragic house fire in town two nights ago. The Thorne family narrowly escaped death, and even had to lift one of the children out the window at the last moment. Thankfully, they are unhurt, but the house is a total loss. Everything they have but the clothes on their backs is gone. They’re going to have to find and furnish a new house for a single father and three children, in the dead of winter, during a pandemic. And Mr. Thorne was only granted full custody of the children two weeks ago. This all couldn’t have come at a worse time.

The Thorne family reached out to me with their gofundme, which you can find here. This is to get furniture and appliances for their new housing. Please be as generous as you can. I know everyone’s hurting right now, but even a little helps.

And in case any of my local readers can bring the family any clothing, the sizes are as follows:

Men’s size large shirt jeans size 32, shoe size 14

Girls sizes 8-10 clothing and size 4 1/2 shoes

Boys size 5 shoes 8-10 clothes

Girls size 12 shoes and 4-5 clothes.

Just message me on the Steel Magnificat facebook page and I’ll tell you where to drop those off.

Thank you all very much for always responding to the needs of our poorer neighbors. Let’s make sure the the Thornes are safely housed and warmly clothed as quickly as we can!
