A Chance to Help a Family

A Chance to Help a Family May 21, 2022

Hi folks,

I’ve had so many questions about how to help the family I wrote about last week, that I’ve put together a gofundme to help them repair or replace their vehicle and hopefully the rental washer and dryer as well.

As I explained last week, the Higgs family are a hardworking family who got a car with the tax return so they could get to work, but just over a month after they bought the car it broke down. Mechanics are saying it will cost almost as much to repair the car as they paid for it in the first place, and it’s not big enough for their whole family to ride anywhere together anyway, so they wish they could replace the car with a used mini van. In the meanwhile, the father is getting whatever ride he can to his night shift job across the river in Weirton, too far to walk to, and either taking a cab or hitchhiking home at two in the morning The family also loses a lot of money every month on a rented washer and dryer because they’re too far from a laundromat to walk their clothes to wash them.

I have set up a gofundme to at minimum fix and hopefully replace the lemon car. If we get more money than we need for their transportation, I want to put it toward a washer and dryer from the used appliance shop downtown. This will help them pull themselves out of the hole and be able to provide for their children going forward.

I hope to give the money to them and take them to buy a used car as soon as Monday so Mr. H can get to his night shift job that evening, so I’d like to just do this gofundme as a weekend blitz and get as much together as quickly as possible.

If you want to help, the link to the gofundme is right here!

Thank you very much for giving my friends a hand!
