Hollywood Creep: Harvey Weinstein May Be Arrested Soon

Hollywood Creep: Harvey Weinstein May Be Arrested Soon May 23, 2018

This is long overdue.

According to a story from the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, the New York Police Department are on standby, prepared to move in and arrest disgraced pervert movie mogul, Harvey Weinstein.

The once-powerful Weinstein saw his empire come tumbling down in October 2017, after the New Yorker published an in-depth article covering his sexual abuses against various women – including some big name Hollywood actresses.

The charges against Weinstein ripped the mask off of what has been an ugly secret in the industry for a very long time, with stars such as Rose McGowan, Mira Sorvino, Angelina Jolie, and Daryl Hannah all reporting inappropriate behavior.

“Sopranos” actress, Annabella Sciorra even told a tale of forcible rape, after Weinstein forced his way into her New York apartment in 1992.

So many women, with so many stories spanning decades have since come forward. This kicked the #MeToo movement into overdrive.

And now, it may be catching up to him, at long last.

The NYPD is reportedly just waiting for approval from Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr., whose office has been criticized for not previously charging Weinstein after allegations were brought against him in 2015.

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan began a criminal investigation into the multiple sexual abuse allegations against Weinstein amid heightened tensions between police and the Manhattan district attorney’s office, sources told the Journal.

I kind of have to side with whoever is wondering what took so long. These reports came out in October. I get that there may be some statute of limitation issues in some of the cases, but c’mon… there’s got to be more that can be done.

One of those things the U.S. attorney’s office for the Southern District of New York is looking into is whether Weinstein went so far as to get women to cross state lines, in order to commit a sex crime against them. If that be the case, it’s an offense that could lead to federal charges.

Weinstein’s lawyer is Benjamin Brafman. Brafman gave a statement, saying he will be meeting with federal prosecutors, in hopes that he can dissuade them from moving forward with any sort of criminal case against his client.

“Mr. Weinstein has always maintained that he has never engaged in nonconsensual sexual acts,” Brafman said.

Of course.

Then again, it’s not very likely that he’s going to say, “Yeah. I did it. So what?”

Seriously. Given the sheer volume of women who have come forward, it seems very unlikely that they all got together one day and decided to ruin Weinstein’s life.

Federal prosecutors have also investigated possible fraud related to financial transactions carried out by Weinstein.

Not surprising. I’m personally of the belief that if you can do something as vile as rape, you’re capable of any horrible thing.

Although individual sexual assault allegations are usually handled by local authorities, federal prosecutors have in recent months expanded their probe to include possible sex crimes, according to the Journal.

Also, the federal rules of evidence allow for prosecutors to use the proof of other sex crimes as proof of a proclivity for those types of crimes.

It’s a good rule, given the heinous nature of sex crimes.

The Weinstein case was so profound, it opened the floodgates for women (and men) in a wide range of industries, from the entertainment world, to news media and business, to come forward with their stories of abuse.

    Thank you for the update.

I too am wondering why it has taken this long for an arrest to be made – Weinstein is definitely a flight risk given the seriousness of the charges and his immense wealth combined with ownership of multiple properties in multiple states & countries.

I wonder how much of the predominance of state-level charges is due to concerns that Trump may start issuing Presidential Pardons in exchange for large donations to Trump-branded development projects & how much is due to a lack of federal statues covering sexual crimes….

And yet, Trump was accused of brutally raping his wife Ivana because he had a bad hair day. He has been accused of rape of a woman when she was 13 at one of Jerry Epstein’s pedo parties. He has been accused of sexual assault by 19 women. He has made disgusting comments to two 14-yr-old choir girls, a 10-yr-old girl going up an escalator, to Paris Hilton and even his own daughters, but you all still stand up and defend him. Interesting hypocrisy on your parts.

The 19 Women Who Accused President Trump of Sexual Misconduct
The “Weinstein effect” continues to roil the nation’s power centers. But the allegations against the president have largely stayed in the background.

Some of the women’s stories date back to the 1980s when Trump’s personal relationships were fixtures of the New York City tabloids; others begin after he returned to the public eye with his NBC series The Apprentice. Their accounts describe a wide range of alleged behavior, including lewd remarks, overt harassment, groping, and sexual assault.

Donald Trump Is Accused Of Raping A 13-Year-Old. Why Haven’t The Media Covered It?

The allegations aren’t entirely implausible on their face. The accuser says Trump raped her repeatedly at parties thrown by since-convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, who was widely known to throw wild parties with young women and girls. Epstein was convicted in 2008 of soliciting an underage girl for prostitution and served a small portion of an 18-year sentence.

In a New York magazine profile of Epstein before he went to prison, and long before Trump ran for president, Trump acknowledged that he knows Epstein. “I’ve known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy,’’ Trump says in the story. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it ― Jeffrey enjoys his social life.”

The lawsuit against Trump includes affidavits from two anonymous women who say they were witnesses. Yet there’s been little coverage of the case. As one of the media outlets that has not published much about it, I can say there are two main reasons we shied away.

    1. The accuser is anonymous.
    2. The accuser’s public backers have been savaged in the press.
One of the leading organizers of the effort to get the press to pay attention to this case is Steve Baer, an outspoken Republican donor. Baer last made news when his effort to out an alleged affair between Reps. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) and Renee Ellmers (R-N.C.) contributed to McCarthy dropping his bid to become House speaker. Baer’s style is to liberally cc and bcc an endless stream of powerful people, and it usually has the effect of getting none of them to listen.

Donald Trump once told 14-year-old girls, ‘In a couple of years, I’ll be dating you’

In a December 1992 wire brief in the Chicago Tribune, Trump is described as having spotted a youth choir singing Christmas carols at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan. He asked two girls how old they were. When they said they were 14, Trump, then 46, replied, “Wow! Just think — in a couple of years, I’ll be dating you.

After watching a youth choir sing carols, Trump asked two of the girls how old they were. When they said they were 14, Trump, who again was 46 at the time, said, “Wow! Just think — in a couple of years, I’ll be dating you.”

On Wednesday, CBS News reported a similar scenario involving a 10-year-old girl around the same time, when Trump was between his first and second marriages.

In footage from the archives of CBS-owned “Entertainment Tonight,” Trump asks the child if she is planning to ride the escalator at Trump Tower. After she says yes, Trump turns to cameras taping a Christmas special for the show and says, “I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?”

In both instances, the line appears to be somewhat in jest, though the girls’ ages and recent accusations of sex assault against Trump call that into question.

Trump talked about his infant daughter’s legs, and her future breasts

Here’s Trump imagining what his daughter Tiffany’s breasts might look like when she grows up. Tiffany was 1 year old at the time.

When Trump was asked whether Tiffany looked more like him or Trump’s then-wife Marla Maples, he said Marla, and added that Tiffany was “a really beautiful baby.” But the first specific feature Trump mentioned wasn’t anything in her face — it was her legs.

“She’s got Marla’s legs. We don’t know whether or not she’s got this part yet,” Trump said, miming a pair of breasts over his own chest, “but time will tell.”

Trump’s objectification of his daughter Ivanka apparently goes back to her teen years

Trump has said more than once that if his daughter Ivanka weren’t his daughter, he might be dating her. He’s made repeated comments on Ivanka’s physical and sexual appeal (Deadspin has a good rundown of those), and he didn’t bat an eye when Howard Stern called her a “piece of ass” on air.

But it looks like Trump’s apparent obsession with Ivanka has been going on since she was a teenager.

Here’s a disturbing anecdote from the New York Times about Trump calling Ivanka “hot” when she was 16:

Mr. Trump frequently sought assurances — at times from strangers — that the women in his life were beautiful. During the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he sat in the audience as his teenage daughter, Ivanka, helped to host the event from onstage. He turned to Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, Miss Universe at the time, and asked for her opinion of his daughter’s body.

“‘Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?’” Ms. Lee recalled him saying. ‘I was like, ‘Really?’ That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”

As far as I am concerned? Trump should be treated the same as Hollywood Creep Harvey Weinstein. And as far as I am concerned, if YOU are a pedophile and are convicted of pedophile crimes? YOU should get put to death. When YOU rape a child? That destroys that child. I should know, I am part of the #MeToo and #ChurchToo movement and I have worked the last 7 years helping victims of these crimes. There is nothing more disgusting than some degenerate creep raping children.
