Fresh From the Trump-Kim Lovefest, the President Resumes Threats Against Our Allies

So what is going on, here?

More and more, it appears Trump isn’t just making these horrible, inept decisions on his own. Dismantling of the standing of the United States with this level of swift completeness would require a certain amount of instruction.

Who in his administration is advising this? Who is Donald Trump listening to?

Fresh on the heels of the face-to-face summit with North Korea’s murderous dictator, Kim Jong Un, our president is focusing on the real danger to the United States: Canada.

That’s right, after gushing over a man who starves, imprisons, and tortures his own people, had his own brother murdered, and routinely orders forced abortions of Christians, in order to stop the spread of a forbidden faith, President Trump wants to resume attacks against our allies.

He gave Kim everything he wanted, with no preconditions, but has no grace to extend to our northern neighbors.

His threat was vague, but barely veiled.

Speaking of Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau:

“That’s going to cost a lot of money for the people of Canada. He learned. You can’t do that. You can’t do that,” Trump said Tuesday in Singapore after meeting with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un.

He repeated the threat again, while speaking to ABC News:

“I actually like Justin, you know, I think he’s good, I like him, but he shouldn’t have done that. That was a mistake. That’s going to cost him a lot of money,” Trump said.

China screws us over, Russia meddles in our election, and North Korea has very recently threatened to destroy us with nuclear weapons, but Canada is the problem.

I discussed the “Trump Doctrine” on Monday, as described by senior White House officials, as being, “We’re America, B*tches!”

It’s a vile, uncouth, low class way of attempting to run a country, and it certainly wasn’t the case during the Trump-Kim summit.

Trump emerged from the meeting with this maniac full of praise, having made concessions that will surely come back to bite the nation.

According to these White House officials, part of the “Trump Doctrine” is to keep our allies, as well as adversaries off balance. Unfortunately, it’s only our allies in the world who have been kept off balance.

Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland said Tuesday that the government is “prepared for any eventuality” on the possibility of auto tariffs, and that she and Trudeau raised the issue with Trump and other American officials during last weekend’s G7 summit in Quebec. She pointed to Canada’s planned response to the steel and aluminum tariffs — responding duties on a range of U.S. imports worth more than $16 billion — as evidence the government is prepared to be “absolutely resolute” in defending the national interest as trade talks continue.

“From day one, we have said that we expected moments of drama and that we would… keep calm and carry on throughout those moments of drama,” Freeland said.

To be clear, Kim called Trump a dotard (defined as a weak or senile old person). What Trudeau said must be terribly offensive to have prompted such a response.

Over the weekend, there was friction, as the president stood against all of our allies and friends at the G7 summit, even stubbornly advocating for the return of Russia to the group.

In voicing his opposition to Trump’s steel and aluminum tariffs, Trudeau said:

“It would be with regret but it would be with absolute certainty and firmness that we move forward with retaliatory measures on July 1st, applying equivalent tariffs to the ones that the Americans have unjustly applied to us,” Trudeau said then. “I have made it very clear to the president that it is not something we relish doing, but it is something that we absolutely will do, because Canadians: we’re polite, we’re reasonable, but we also will not be pushed around.”

And Trump is pushing those tariffs on grounds of “national security” – against Canada.

He doesn’t want to carry out sanctions on Russia, who were proven to have interfered in our 2016 election, has given China a break, and even made concessions for North Korea, but Canada is a security risk.

Even children on the playground know not to throw rocks at their friends, while sharing candy with the bullies.

That is, unless the bullies have them by the scruff of the neck and are making them throw rocks.
