Trump Fixer, Michael Cohen, Is Ready to Sing Like a Bird

Trump Fixer, Michael Cohen, Is Ready to Sing Like a Bird June 15, 2018

There are some people that can take mountains of abuse, whether mental, emotional, or otherwise, and they don’t crack. You have to believe, however, that there are limits to how much anyone will take, and when those limits are reached, there’s going to be a distinct, memorable reaction.

As former Trump campaign chairman, Paul Manafort was hauled off to jail on Friday due to witness tampering in his case, you have to figure Trump “fixer” and longtime personal attorney, Michael Cohen, is watching with rapt interest.

Watching, and sweating.

Cohen linked himself to Donald Trump around a decade ago, and those who know of the relationship are quick to point out that Trump treated his personal attorney like crap. He demeaned and verbally abused him, both publicly and privately.

For some reason, Cohen took it.

He once said he’d take a bullet for Donald Trump, so now we may see just how true that is.

It’s important to point out that while Cohen is considered to be the one who “knows where the bodies are buried,” when it comes to Trump, he was not offered a position with the Trump administration. That had to sting, given Cohen’s noted loyalty.

Most recently, Trump has announced that Cohen is no longer his attorney.

He threw him under the bus.

With legal troubles mounting, his attorneys fleeing the case, Cohen may have finally hit the wall.

President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Michael Cohen has indicated to family and friends he is willing to cooperate with federal investigators to alleviate the pressure on himself and his family, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Cohen has expressed anger with the treatment he has gotten from the President, who has minimized his relationship with Cohen, and comments from the President’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the source said. The treatment has left him feeling isolated and more open to cooperating, the source said.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is President Trump’s new lawyer, as it pertains to the ongoing Russia probe, and he’s a whole, big ball of crazy. I can imagine some of the comments he has made are not conducive to fostering good will and security in the mind of Michael Cohen.

Back in April 2018 Cohen’s home and offices were raided by federal authorities. Multiple documents and over a dozen electronic devices were seized, as Cohen’s finances come under scrutiny.

Among the charges Cohen is facing are bank and wire fraud, and campaign finance law violations.

There’s also the question of the Trump Tower deal with Moscow that was he, along with Kremlin-connected former Trump business partner, Felix Sater were involved in.

He did so much, and all of it seems to be connected to his work for his sole client, Donald Trump.

Trump has made it clear, Cohen is on his own.

Asked by reporters Friday if he was worried about Cohen cooperating, Trump said, “I did nothing wrong, nothing wrong.” He also said he hasn’t spoken with Cohen “in a long time,” adding, “I always liked Michael and he’s a good person.”

Yeah, but you have to turn your back on him now, right?

Cohen hasn’t met with prosecutors to work through a deal, as yet. He’s got his hands full trying to find attorney’s that will take his case, preferably those with experience in the Southern District of New York, where his case will be tried.

The current legal team for Cohen have until today to finish up review of around 3.7 million documents the FBI had seized, as they search for items that might fall under attorney-client privilege. They’re expected to meet their deadline and return those items to the court.

And then Michael Cohen is pretty much on his own, left to deal with what is a serious legal matter, and Donald Trump has dealt him a final indignity: He has turned his back on him.

What happens and how far Cohen goes to protect himself and his family will be a true measure of priorities.
