“Freebie Barbie” Balks and Runs at the Prospect of Debating Ben Shapiro

I’m embarrassed for her.

So here’s the set-up: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – aka Freebie Barbie – is the Democratic Socialist candidate running for U.S. Congress – District 14, New York (Bronx, Queens).

She’s almost assured to win, given the makeup of the district, and it’s causing Democrats headaches.

For one, many of them feel her socialist leanings are too far left and going so extreme so quickly could have negative effects on future elections.

And secondly, she’s dumb as a rock.

I don’t even think she understands what kind of policies she’s pushing. She’s been asked in several different forums to explain how she’d implement those things she claims to stand for, and the mumble-mouthed, backwards, doublespeak that tumbles out is enough to give most serious listeners a nervous twitch.

She doesn’t even understand the leadership structure of the Democrat party.

She doesn’t know a lot, actually.

She claims to have a Bachelor’s from Boston University’s College of Arts and Science in Economics.

I find that hard to believe. If she had any knowledge of economics, she wouldn’t be a socialist.

If you want to know exactly how useless she is, her bio lists her as a “community organizer.”

Anyway, as she has traipsed about, babbling near incoherently about how everything should be paid for by other people’s money, she also has made the comment that Republicans won’t debate her on the issues.

Really?

Well, someone decided to step up.

The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, in a video message on Wednesday, offered to give her the forum to showcase her community organizing skills and vast economics knowledge, through a debate. He even offered to sweeten the deal with a $10,000 pledge to her campaign or favorite charity.

Said Shapiro:

“Miss Ocasio-Cortez, I’m really excited that you’ve been elevated to that position and I would love to have a real conversation with you about the issues,” Shapiro said. “You’ve noted that you think Republicans are afraid to debate you or talk to you or discuss the issues with you.”

“Not only am I eager to discuss the issues with you, I’m willing to offer $10,000 to your campaign, today, for you to come on our Sunday special,” Shapiro continued. “We can have an hour-long conversation about all the topics under the sun, really probe your belief system.”

Personally, I think it would be an amazing event. I would go out of my way to see this, and for $10,000, you’d think Ocasio-Cortez would jump at the chance.

You’d think.

The reaction was the exact opposite.

That’s right. Freebie Barbie pulled the woman card and actually compared a civil, polite offer to debate to sweaty workmen hanging out at construction sites and making lewd noises at women passing by.

And it wasn’t “unsolicited.” You made the comment about Republicans not debating you. He offered.

This is how you play the victim when you know you’re in danger of being exposed as a complete buffoon on a wide forum.

It’s no wonder Democrats are cringing.

This is also a real disservice to women and victims of actual sexual harassment or misconduct.

It would have been much easier to just say she was scared. The vast wasteland of intellectual voids that voted for her in the primary wouldn’t know if she was winning or losing the debate, anyway.

Nor do they care.

They really just want the free stuff.
