In Promoting Her New Tell-All, Omarosa Tumbles Into Some Truth

In Promoting Her New Tell-All, Omarosa Tumbles Into Some Truth August 13, 2018

Well, how about that? Omarosa Manigault Newman, in the middle of her tour to promote her upcoming White House tell-all book, “Unhinged: An Insider’s Account of the Trump White House,” stumbled into something that can be deemed actual truth.

So let’s get this part out of the way.

I trust Omarosa, the perennial reality TV antagonist who managed to score a spot within the workings of the Trump presidential administration, about as far as I can chuck a 140-pound sack of manure.

That is to say: I don’t.

The shocking part is that Trump did when he brought her into the White House with him. Now he and those around him seem flabbergasted that she did what she does – stabbed him in the back.

We should just be honest and admit that it is pretty easy to get in Trump’s good graces. Bootlickers and Yes men tend to slide into place, as a natural result of dealing with an intensely fragile ego, in constant need of affirmation.

After telling the world that Trump’s detractors would bow down to him in one pre-election interview, it became obvious Omarosa was angling for an administration spot. She got it, and proceeded to be who she has always been, causing turmoil, but not much else.

In fact, at some point it was written that nobody really knew what it was she did with the White House. Her official title was  Director of Communications for the Office of Public Liaison.

Early on in her new position she invited the Congressional Black Caucus to meet at the White House, signing off the invitation as, “the Honorable Omarosa Manigault.”

Yeah. White House aides don’t really refer to themselves in that way, so that was a bit much. It was a revealing peek into the self-absorbed, self-important attitude that helped get her booted out on her backside.

I know there’s a rush on White House tell-alls, now that we’ve turned control of our nation over to the most inept, corrupt, and potentially compromised president in our history, but no one should see this as anything more than one last, desperate grab for relevancy.

As I mentioned above, however, some truth managed to make it into Omarosa’s weekend appearances.

“I was complicit with this White House deceiving this nation,” Manigault Newman said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

There you go.

How much influence she actually had is debatable. I mean, how many were brought into the Trump fan club because of his connection to Omarosa?

That being said, she is absolutely culpable in pressing the lies of competency on the public.

“They continue to deceive this nation by how mentally declined he is, how difficult it is for him to process complex information, how he is not engaged in some of the most important decisions that impacts our country,” she continued. “I was complicit and for that I regret.”

Manigault Newman said President Trump‘s pledges to help the community and commitment to her career gave her a “blind spot” where she repeatedly wanted to see the best in the president.

Ridiculous.

She has known this man for many years. She claims to have heard him use racially offensive language on the set of “Celebrity Apprentice.” That wasn’t enough for her?

I can buy that there’s some mental decline. He’s over 70 years old.

We all have heard the stories, from sources outside of Omarosa, about his inability to grasp the details of his job, and given just the things we have seen and heard from him publicly, those stories are easy to believe.

If there’s really a conscience at work within Omarosa at this time, where she regrets her role, however small, in foisting this cancer on the nation, she can take comfort in knowing she is not alone. There are many who shoulder that blame.
