Don’t Look Now, but There’s a New Trump Dating App

On the one hand, it’s like every horrific nightmare scenario imaginable. The idea of devoted Trumpidian acolytes hooking up, propagating, and further spreading the seed of low-info, big government, reality TV-dulled minds across the nation.

On the other hand, however, if they’re going to mate, perhaps it’s best to keep them in one corral.

So what am I talking about?

Well, it appears some enterprising sadist has come up with another Trump supporter dating app, and all the world recoils at the possibilities.

 DonaldDaters launched Monday for Apple and Android devices with the hope of encouraging young conservatives to meet and mingle, Fox News reported.

“For many young Trump supporters, liberal intolerance has made meeting and dating nearly impossible,” Emily Moreno, CEO of Donald Daters, said in a statement. “Support for the president has become a dealbreaker instead of an icebreaker. That’s why we created a new platform for Trump supporters to meet people without being afraid of talking politics.”

It appears to be the standard formula dating app, with the language tweaked to appeal to the MAGA club members.

It does come with the added – and I’d say, valuable – feature of “troll blocking.” In other words, potential liberal trolls can be weeded out and blocked.

It also offers up 25 potential MAGA matches, each day.

I imagine dating in this highly polarized new world has become difficult for some. If their passion is MAGA and “owning the libs,” they lay a lot of little landmines around the dating field.

And if you’re wondering, a political startup, American Liberal Council, started the opposite dating site in March.

NeverTrump.Dating bills itself as “an all-inclusive, love-pairing dating site for those who oppose and resist President Donald Trump.”

For those wondering, no, I am not a member.

The new Trump dating site looks to draw from various communities.

DonaldDaters is marketed for Trump supporters but says everyone is welcome on the site.

“We encourage freethinking and welcome anyone to download and enjoy our community,” the website states.

It’s hilarious that they now say they “encourage freethinking.” We’ve all seen the reaction of the Branch Trumpidian faithful when anyone questions their liege.

This is the second such dating site that has popped up since Donald Trump was elected. I haven’t noticed any social media proclamations of couples having made a Trumpian love connection, and I shudder to think of what something like that would even look like.

I imagine it looks like something from the now-defunct Backpage, with promises of genital grabbing, porn, and absolutely zero expectations of truth or monogamous devotion.

Truly, the notion of a Donald Trump dating site seems counterproductive, at least for those that may be looking for something more long lasting and serious. If they hold up Trump as the example, the purpose seems bankrupt, even before it begins.

It’s a brave, crazy, depressing new world in dating, people. Let’s be careful out there.
