Of Sedition and Traitors: an Ode to Ted Cruz

Who are the enemies within?

The most technical definition, as laid out in 18 U.S. Code § 2385, walks us through any attempts to overthrow our government.

Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or

Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or

Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—

The penalties could include up to 20 years in prison, along with fines.

What about rebellion or insurrection?

18 U.S. Code § 2383 spells it out this way:

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

Just to be thorough, let’s examine 18 U.S. Code § 2384 – Seditious conspiracy:

If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof, they shall each be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both.

There are a number of ways that the human viruses, intent on killing our free, democratic republic reveal themselves.

Some of them have been open and blatant in their attempts. We are infested with a strain of socialist antagonists. They wreak havoc on college campuses and in city streets, burning and looting property. They demand free everything, with no intellectual capability of grasping the burden their demands put on the nation, as a whole.

In infantile violence, they demand an end to the police, and an increase in “stuff.” Personal responsibility, taking into consideration how their actions harm their community do not come into play. They burn it down, then complain about the lack of opportunity.

My deep country roots cry out in disgust over an entire generation lost, because their parents denied them the grace gained from cutting a switch from a nearby tree, in order that their attitudes could be “adjusted” early on.

The very system these destructive brats are raging against gives them the right to take to the streets and have their voices heard. What it doesn’t allow is for them to burn cars, smash windows, loot (also known as “stealing”) or commit various acts of violence against their community and/or law enforcement.

As I pointed out, those are blatant, but unfortunately, they’re not alone in their attempts to end this great experiment in self-governance. There is a more insidious, and stealthy force at work against us, these days. They don’t take to the streets, but they encourage others to do so. They don’t burn or loot, but they work from the inside of our government to steal from the livelihood of the American tax payers and to subvert our laws for their own gain.

What’s worse, they’ve operated openly, draped in the American flag, exalting their own virtues, when, in fact, they were nothing but opportunistic cowards, waiting for their chance to pounce and capitalize on cultural weakness.

The age of Trump has scraped away the thin veneer of alleged “patriotism” of some of our political leadership, and it is an ugly sight.

If you’ve been following my work for the past five years or so, you may recall that during the 2015-2016 primary season, I was less than impressed with Texas Senator Ted Cruz. I fervently backed former Texas Governor Rick Perry. When he dropped out, I put my support (almost begrudgingly) behind Florida Senator Marco Rubio. I would not back Cruz, even when Perry put his support behind him.

Why?

Because he’s a weasel.

I didn’t always think that way. I was excited when Cruz entered the race for president. I bought the super-patriot schtick. I bought it, right up until the point that he began showing himself.

Cruz jumped on the Trump train early in the primary season, cozying up to candidate Donald Trump, and defending him vociferously, at every turn. It was so over-the-top that he was asked during one interview why he was running, when he could simply drop out and support Trump.

I likened Cruz to Trump’s “prison wife.” Those of you who work with the prison system, or who have watched the HBO series, “OZ,” probably understand what I’m saying.

Donald Trump called Cruz’s wife “ugly.” He and his pal, David Pecker, with The National Enquirer suggested she was mentally unstable. They insinuated Cruz had had multiple affairs. They even put out that his father, Rafael Cruz, was involved in the murder of President John F. Kennedy.

Since Trump took office, Ted Cruz has become increasingly clownish, in his zeal to ingratiate himself to the frothing MAGA cult. He has no pride, no sense of duty, other than the duty to kowtow to the gilded toad’s every whim.

And now, that mask that was already slipping is fully off.

Senator Cruz, along with several other United States senators intends to attempt an overthrow of our government, in order to install Trump as an authoritarian ruler. They want to subvert the law, the bedrock of our government, disrupt the peaceful transfer of power, all for the glory of the inglorious Donald Trump.

So who are the reprobate traitors involved, along with Cruz?

Republicans involved include Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), James Lankford (R-Okla.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.), and Mike Braun (R-Ind.), as well as Sens.-elect Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.).

The ruse involves faux concern over a “stolen” election. It alleges mass voter fraud, but strangely enough, it only happened in those states that Trump lost. Not a single state that Trump won has been disputed by these lawmakers, or the mindless “Stop the Steal” protesters that actually believe they can toss out the votes of over 80 million fellow Americans.

Does that strike anyone, other than me, as odd?

What Cruz and his cabal of traitorous scum are saying:

“Congress should immediately appoint an Electoral Commission, with full investigatory and fact-finding authority, to conduct an emergency 10-day audit of the election returns in the disputed states. Once completed, individual states would evaluate the Commission’s findings and could convene a special legislative session to certify a change in their vote, if needed,” the senators said in a joint statement.

Except that multiple court cases, including cases brought before the Supreme Court have been tossed, due to lack of standing.

There have been numerous recounts and audits, and none have resulted in any glaring abnormalities.

There have been a few cases of fraud uncovered, but those were cases where Trump supporters were attempting fraud – not Biden voters. I’m pretty sure we’re not supposed to notice those.

The seditious senators are hoping to cobble together a commission, like one crafted in 1876, consisting of five representatives, five senators, and five Supreme Court justices. They’re hoping that calling for this commission, and voting to reject the electors on January 6^th will buy them time.

To be clear, I’m not thrilled with the notion of a Biden presidency. I am less thrilled, however, with holding up the will of the American voters, in favor of one man. This is not how our nation was designed to work.

What should not be missed is Cruz the Weasel’s ultimate intent: 2024.

The man who is willing to allow his wife and father to be thrown under the bus has no compunction over tap dancing for the same crowd that drove the bus.

I would go as far as to say that Ted Cruz knows this is a no-win situation. He knows that this charade ends on January 20, and Donald Trump is out of the White House, with his possible next stop being a Manhattan courtroom (with prison to come, soon after).

Cruz has allowed partisanship and vain ambition to overrule his duty to uphold the laws of our nation. He took an oath to preserve our Constitution, but he lied.

So have all the others who are signing on to this madness.

What’s more, their actions do nothing to draw us together as Americans. It divides us along partisan lines, further straining the bonds of unity.

Ted Cruz is sucking up to Trump’s cult, in an attempt to win their favor for his presidential run in 2024. He is weaponizing their ignorance for his own gain.

He’s not alone, but his grandstanding and his position in the senate make his actions all the more disgusting.

Senator Cruz, you are attempting to burn down the republic for your own gain. You are a disgrace, just as lawless and corrupt as those who attempt to get their way by destroying neighborhoods and looting appliance stores.

As a nation, we may never know healing until both Trumpism, and politicians like Ted Cruz are fully ejected from the public arena.
