There’s a Monster in Virginia and He’s Running for Congress

Is this guy for real?

We’re probably all used to novelty candidates, by now. They’ve become sort of a fixture in American politics.

You know, some goober wearing an old boot on his head pops up in the news, claiming he’s running for this or that, or a reality TV clown, known more for his comically bad hairstyle than his searing intellect suddenly decides he wants to be president.

Oh, wait…

Regardless, a Charlottesville, Virginia Independent, Nathan Larson, is taking it to a new level.

In a recent Huffington Post article, we’re introduced to Larson, a 37 year old accountant, who is running for Congress.

I’m not sure how to describe his platform. In his campaign manifesto, he describes it as “quasi-neoreactionary libertarian.”  Also, among some of what we know about Larson, he’s an admitted pedophile and violent misogynist.

In a phone call, Larson confirmed that he created the now-defunct websites suiped.org and incelocalypse.today ― chat rooms that served as gathering places for pedophiles and violence-minded misogynists like himself. HuffPost contacted Larson after confirming that his campaign website shared an IP address with these forums, among others. His sites were terminated by their domain host on Tuesday.

On the phone, he was open about his pedophilia and seemingly unfazed about his long odds of attaining government office.

“A lot of people are tired of political correctness and being constrained by it,” he said. “People prefer when there’s an outsider who doesn’t have anything to lose and is willing to say what’s on a lot of people’s minds.”

I’m going to dispute that there are a lot of people who think sex between adults and children is an ok thing, or that violent sex is acceptable.

When asked whether he’s a pedophile or just writes about pedophilia, he said, “It’s a mix of both. When people go over the top there’s a grain of truth to what they say.”

He also wrote an essay that was posted to one of his sites, where he described an incestuous relationship between a father and daughter. He wrote another describing multiple violent rapes of his former wife.

Asked if those contained the same “grain of truth,” he said “yes,” and added some nonsense about the rape fantasies of many women.

Is this guy for real?

It’s kind of hard to take him seriously (or avoid vomiting), when along with the worthy platform issues his campaign site promotes, such as defending legal gun ownership and establishing free trade, he also includes, “…protecting “benevolent white supremacy,” as well as legalizing incestuous marriage and child pornography.”

Sick, twisted, freakish.

In the manifesto, Larson called Nazi leader Adolf Hitler a “white supremacist hero.” He urged Congress to repeal the Violence Against Women Act, adding, “We need to switch to a system that classifies women as property, initially of their fathers and later of their husbands.” He also showed sympathy for men who identify as involuntary celibates, or incels, suggesting it is unfair that they “are forced to pay taxes for schools, welfare, and other support for other men’s children.”

This is where I stop believing there’s even an ounce of authenticity in this guy’s run for public office. This is about drawing attention for himself, whether good or bad.

Is he serious about everything else he’s saying? He likely is, but from a psychological standpoint, we can assume there’s a certain amount of self-loathing and self-destructiveness. There’s no way he wants to win if he’s openly spewing such poison, even in today’s callous, amoral society.

HuffPo managed to grab shots of some of Larson’s writing before the domain mercifully obliterated those pages.

There’s no sense in telling you some of the exact wording. It is so vile, it defies all sense of decency.

He goes into graphic details of rape-entitlement. He repeatedly spoke of his desire to engage in incest with infants and young children – including his own daughter.

Does he have a daughter?

He does. He has a 3 year old daughter who was sent to live with relatives, after her mom (his ex-wife) committed suicide.

That poor little girl. I pray her family is keeping her far, far away from the man who sired her.

Everything Larson wrote (and admits to being the author of) was reprehensible. Probably one of the “safest” passages notes:

In “Let’s Define What Rape Is,” a 3,000-word essay posted on Nathania.org as well as other incel sites, Larson wrote: “Women are objects, to be taken care of by men like any other property, and for powerful men to insert themselves into as it pleases them, and as they believe will be in women’s own interests. In most cases, their interests are aligned, as long as the man is strong. Female sex-slaves actually get a much better deal than animals, because in most cases, they are allowed to reproduce, unlike animals raised for meat or companionship.”

When asked what his constituents would think about his pedophiliac writings, he said, “People are open-minded.”

I’d like to poll the people of Charlottesville, Virginia. I know some pretty ugly things went on there in 2017, but I’m believing most of the worst was from out-of-town visitors.

He continued, “A lot of people who disagreed with someone like Trump … might vote for them anyway just because the establishment doesn’t like them.”

And we did see that in 2016, but whatever Larson is can’t be put off on Donald Trump. He’s a grown man, responsible for his own actions and beliefs, and everything he’s written and professes is on his own, sick shoulders.

This isn’t even Larson’s first rodeo.

He first ran for Congress in District 1 of Virginia in 2008. At that time, he claimed an “anarcho-capitalist” platform.

That campaign crashed and burned when he sent a letter to the Secret Service, threatening to kill the president.

For that stunt, he got a 14 month stay in a federal prison and was barred from running for any political office.

In one of then-Governor Terry McAuliffe’s typically well-thought out moves, he restored voting and civil rights to convicted felons, back in 2016. That freed up Larson to run for office, again.

He ran in Virginia’s House of Delegates District 31 in 2017. What should chill the blood of everyone reading this is that he got less than two percent of the vote.

Think about it. Even if it was only one percent, or even if it was only one person, that means somebody shares this monster’s horrid views.

So here he is again, and it’s very unlikely this campaign will get any more traction than the last one. He’ll serve only as an oddity to be discussed in forums like this.

The problem is in knowing someone so vile is out there, and feels emboldened to step into the light and to run for public office.
