He wants me to tell you that this album, with solos by B.B. King, the late, great Joe Williams (“Mom, this old dude ROCKED!”) and others, plus David Benoit and Chick Correa this a terrific and fun album of mostly jazz. And although he is not a fan of Kenny G’s – in fact, it is safe to say that Buster is a jazz-snob who looks down upon Kenny G with great disdain – he says this 1989 CD contains an outstanding and “red hot” bit of playing by Kenny G on a piece called “Breadline Blues.”
“Kenny G apparently knew how to kick it before he sold out for money and wallpaper music light-jazz-fakery,” says Buster, who is now trying to duplicate the piece on his sax.
Kids. Is there anything they don’t know?
