The Triduum approaches: Rest

The Triduum approaches: Rest 2017-03-16T23:53:10+00:00

The Easter Triduum begins tomorrow. I have not decided if this year I will skip the Chrism Mass of Holy Thursday – it’s a great liturgy but a long one. Depends on the energy I have, I guess. Right now I am so tired, physically, mentally and spiritually, that I don’t know what to do with myself – you can see it in my writing and my reasoning, which are both a bit wobbly right now. Sometimes it feels like only my monk coffee is keeping me going.

It has been a long, beautiful but surprisingly arduous Lent. A look back through the “Lent” category confirms it.

Tomorrow I will give you the lowdown on the Triduum highlights and the splendid Easter Vigil. For now – some brain-teasers from my Elder Son’s Sweet Girlfriend. Have fun!

What is the next letter in this series: A B D O P Q

If two mothers and two daughters go to a farm to pick some pumpkins and each picks one pumpkin, why did they leave with only three pumpkins?

If it’s not the day after Monday or the day before Thursday, and it isn’t Sunday tomorrow, and it wasn’t Sunday yesterday, and the day after tomorrow isn’t Saturday, and the day before yesterday wasn’t Wednesday, what day is it?

Fun Fact: Think of any three digit number in which all digits are the same. For example, 333. Ad the digits (3+3+3 = 9). Divide the original number by the sum of it’s digits (333 divided by 9 = 37). Thirty-seven is the weird number:

111 divided by 3 =
222 divided by 3 =
etc.
