It always irks me that no one thought to get the remarkable cast from the 1992 Broadway revival of Guys & Dolls onto tape. It was a perfectly cast production with great sets, memorable costumes and male chorus that sang out with heartstopping verve and virility; it was, in my judgment, vastly superior to the film featuring Marlon Brando as Sky and Frank Sinatra as Nathan Detroit (both miscast but don’t get me started.)

I own “Off the Record”, a video of the recording session for the 1992 cast album, and that’s entertaining, but I’d love to have seen this production. Here, Nathan Lane and Faith Prince, as Nathan Detroit and Miss Adelaide, perform Sue Me on the Tonight Show:
